Peter Mikulka My father was an artist in oils. I would watch him paint for hours. Despite this introduction to art, academic choices led me to major in Psychology at Manhattan College (in the Bronx) and then earn a doctorate at Rutgers University. Then followed three years with the US Air Force as a Physiological Training Officer (it is best to have oxygen when flying above 10,000 feet). In 1969, I joined the faculty at Old Dominion University and spent the next forty years teaching and doing research, while helping raise three daughters. In the 90s I took a watercolor class with Robert Burnell and I loved the challenge of painting quickly and working on a wet surface. Watercolor is exciting, challenging. and sometimes frustrating, but I enjoy the process. I have been lucky to paint with two very talented artists, Betty Anglin and Holly Ethridge Wentz. The journey continues.
