Upcoming Exhibitions and Events

Exhibitions:
​The Chesapeake Bay Watercolorists Organization traditionally holds 2 exhibitions as year. ​We are currently accepting information for the following show. 

Creative Expressions 2023 Exhibit will be held at the Sandler Center in Virginia Beach. Exhibit duration is from April 18th through July 25th. Exhibit applications are due no later than April 3, 2023. Opening Reception will be held on May 8th from 6:00-8:00 pm. 
        Artists, please follow the guidelines listed in the below prospectus. You must also complete a Sandler Center Waiver Form to enter your artwork into the show. 

Fall Exhibition - Suffolk Art Gallery between September 15, 2023 and October 20, 2023 with the opening September 20th.  There is no fee for this show. Members can enter up to 3 new works of art. VWS members will need to enter different works as the VWS Fall show and this fall show overlap. We are still searching for a Chairperson for this show. 
Events:
​Chrysler Museum Private Viewing - Scheduled for Tuesday, April 16, 2023. There are two one hour showings; mornings and afternoon. 
CBW Sandler Show Eligibility and Entry Instruction
Eligibility: Members of the Chesapeake Bay Watercolorists in good standing with current paid dues. Members may submit up to 2 paintings in watercolor. Minimum sized paintings are 18 inches in any direction. Art must be created from watercolor or other water media on paper or Yupo. Mixed media art must be primarily of watercolor media. Collage work will be accepted if pieces are securely adhered and created with water media by the artist. The following works are excluded from submission: works on canvas, digital pieces or works with digital printed materials attached, computer generated art or Giclee prints. Works must not infringe upon another’s copyright. If photo references are used, they must be the artist’s own photographs. There is no limitation on when the art was created. New and old work will be accepted.

Artists are allowed a maximum of 2 paintings, there is no cost to enter and this is not a judged show.​
