G. Michael Brown Michael is new to watercolors but has enjoyed a background in nature photography. After a career in the Navy and retiring in Virginia Beach, Michael began to explore the medium of watercolor painting as a relaxing hobby. He paints many of the scenes from his photographs. His love of exploring the outdoors has pointed him towards wilderness scenes. He spends much of his time in the woods and lakes of New England and struggles to capture the nuances of his experiences. Self-taught, he admires the paintings of Ogden Pleissner , Chet Reneson, and Arthur Shilstone. Several members of the Chesapeake Bay Watercolor Society have been instrumental in critiques of his work. So much to learn!
